We sang “How Firm a Foundation” by Jeff Wreyford and “Christ Be All Around Me” by Michael W. Smith in praise and worship.

Kathy began with a quick review of the three foundational building blocks to healthy relationships which are unity, intimacy and vulnerability.  This week’s lesson elaborated on those principles by seeing the connection between unity and separateness, intimacy and our true identity, and vulnerability and fear of man.

Yesterday was Trumpet Call, a time when we dig a little deeper into what we’ve been learning and receive some one-on-one (or 2 on 1) prayer time around an issue God is targeting in our lives. We sang “More and More of You” by Selah, “Always Good” by Kathryn Scott, and “All My Fountains” by Chris Tomlin.

Dana walked us through the worksheet, leading us to seek the Lord regarding how we may have shut off the flow of the fruits of the Holy Spirit into and through our lives. She shared personal examples of what it has looked like in her own life. She also showed some parallels between growing wine grapes and growing spiritual fruit as sometimes the gardener trains, prunes, and positions so that the fruit is more abundant and sweeter.

Kathy shared some biblical examples from the books of 1 and 2 Kings on receiving God’s favor that provided great principles for us to follow.

* If you attend the morning class, make sure to complete the Trumpet Call Prep sheet to prepare for next week’s class.

Today we sang “You Are My All In All” by Dennis Jernigan and Natalie Grant as well as one of the songs from this year’s 3DCD, “Hide Away In The Love Of Jesus” by Sovereign Grace.

Kathy taught from Judges 6 using Gideon’s example of what it looks like to have a POVERTY mindset and how to overcome it.

This morning we sang “Man of Sorrows” by Hillsong Live and “10,000 Reasons” by Matt Redman. Kathy reminded us that choosing the fruits of the Spirit is NOT about performance. We are choosing to STOP and CONNECT with the Lord, asking Him what He wants to produce in us in that moment. Remember – CONNECTION, CONNECTION, CONNECTION. All of these lessons are in the context of RELATIONSHIP.

We continued to learn how relationships work by examining FORGIVING LOVE and how sometimes we need to “forgive” God…not that God ever needs to be forgiven; He is perfect. Sometimes we FEEL offended, we FEEL disappointed, we FEEL hurt and we need to reconcile those feelings by extending forgiveness and reconnecting with the lover of our souls.

We started our morning with some listening prayer led by Kathy to get our mind, will and emotions surrendered and ready to worship. We sang “Draw Me Close To You” by Michael W. Smith and “In Christ Alone” by Kristian Stanfill.

Today we learned the role of the soul and discussed how to renew our minds with God’s truth. Kathy showed us today how our lives can be a VICTORY CYCLE of allowing God to produce the fruits of the spirit in us, acting out of those fruits and then offering up our good works to the Lord. Again, it all boils down to CONNECTION. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

*Please note, there are a few seconds of distortion near the beginning of the recording. It only lasts for a few seconds and the remainder of the recording is clear.

We kicked off our second semester in our new location with praise singing 1) The Lord Our God by Kristian Stanfil 2) Breathe by Rebecca St. James and 3) Be Thou My Vision by 4Him.

How thankful we are to God for His provision in so many ways as we begin a new semester in a new room at Covenant. Kathy’s teaching on the fresh breath God offers us was so timely and REFRESHING:)!

This week we began by worshipping God for being the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and End…and for being greater than anything in our past, present or future. We sang 1) Whom Shall I Fear? by Chris Tomlin  2) Stronger by Hillsongs and 3) How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin.

Dana shared the work she had done on the Tool and Technique: Timeline, going through some of her “squares” with us. She demonstrated how believing lies affects our behaviors and how to arrest the process with God’s truth.

After the teaching we had a time of listening prayer as we heard Nichole Nordeman’s “I Am” and David Crowder’s “Here’s My Heart Lord”

* Focus on the Tool and Technique: Timeline this week for homework. We will begin this work now, and begin discussing it next week, but will continue it through the holidays. There is an alternate page called “TimelineSquares” (print several) that you can use if you don’t want to use the poster board/post it notes. There are many ways to do it, the point is to get with the Lord and ask Him what is on His heart for you and your timeline. Please contact Kathy or your group leader if you have any questions.

This week we had technical difficulties during praise and so we sang the Doxology accapella:).

We continued to look at God’s view of time as EDUCATIONAL, EXCLUSIVE(LY) HIS, and ETERNAL.

We sang 1) Everlasting God by Passion 2) The Lord Our God by Passion and 3) How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin.

We continued to look at more characteristics of Kairos time. It is SLOW, SANCTIFYING, and can seem SUDDEN.
