This week we listened to Tommy Walker’s “I Give Thanks” before singing 1) The Lord Our God by Passion and 2) Praise the Father, Praise the Son by Chris Tomlin. Due to technical difficulties we missed out on singing Blessed Be the Name by Tree63, but it is a great one!!
We looked several passages including Hebrews 12 and Isaiah 53 examining how doubt and disobedience block us from entering God’s promised rest. Kathy also reminded us that it takes discipline (a.k.a. training) to enter and maintain that rest, but that perseverance leads us to delight in the Lord. Again we heard testimony of how the practice of giving thanks in all circumstances shifts our focus to the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
