We sang 1) Everlasting God by Passion 2) The Lord Our God by Passion and 3) How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin.

We continued to look at more characteristics of Kairos time. It is SLOW, SANCTIFYING, and can seem SUDDEN.

We examined God’s view of time: 1) It is EXPANSIVE – God sees the end from the beginning. 2) It is EXPENSIVE – He sacrificed all.  3) We should be EXPECTANT

For God speaks time and again, but a person may not notice it.

Job 33:14 CSB

Nothing lifts my spirits like an unexpected note, call, or text message from someone I love. I am better, my day is brighter, because that person remembered me. I realize I am loved. What a welcome interruption!

As I have gotten to know God over the years, I’ve realized that He delights to communicate His love to me in very personal ways. He has used the most creative, and often humorous, means to get my attention and get His message across.

When God gives me a new message, I’m so excited that I want to take a picture of it! I had just taught a Bible study on John 14 the day I saw this young man:

Obey

“If you love me, obey my commandments.’

John 14:14 NLT

“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me.”

John 14:21

“If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.”

John 14:23

When I was weighed down with guilt and regret, God graciously reminded me that Jesus reversed the curse of sin and paid the penalty for me:

reverse

Jesus reversed the curse!

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us”

Galatians 3:13 NIV

I’ll let these pictures and the truths they represent speak for themselves:

feather

He will shield you with his wings. He will shelter you with his feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Psalm 91:4 NLT

 forgiveness

He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:10,12 NAS

locust

I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.

Joel 2:25 KJV

bumper

God created human beings in his image.

Genesis 1:27 NCV

Isaiah40

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart.

Isaiah 40:11 NIV

You might say that I have blessed eyes, and I would wholeheartedly agree. I say–and, more importantly, God says–that your eyes can be blessed, too (Mt 13:16). Why not ask the Lord to send His encouragement and also ask for eyes to recognize it? See for yourself that God is love and that He loves you!

Send me a sign of your favor…for you, O Lord, help and comfort me.

Psalm 86:17 NLT

*This week’s recording is difficult to hear. I apologize for the inconvenience. – Dana

This week we listened to Tommy Walker’s “I Give Thanks” before singing 1) The Lord Our God by Passion and 2) Praise the Father, Praise the Son by Chris Tomlin. Due to technical difficulties we missed out on singing Blessed Be the Name by Tree63, but it is a great one!!

We looked several passages including Hebrews 12 and Isaiah 53 examining how doubt and disobedience block us from entering God’s promised rest. Kathy also reminded us that it takes discipline (a.k.a. training) to enter and maintain that rest, but that perseverance leads us to delight in the Lord. Again we heard testimony of how the practice of giving thanks in all circumstances shifts our focus to the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

We entered the courts of the Lord with 1) You Are My All In All by Dennis Jernigan and Natalie Grant, 2) Man of Sorrows by Hillsong, and 3) Here’s My Heart by David Crowder.

We discussed the different voices that we hear such as FEAR and FLESH, and were encouraged knowing that we have the CHOICE to enter the secret place of God’s presence so that the VOICE OF TRUTH becomes the loudest voice we hear.

This post is an excerpt from a recent email I received from my precious friend Debbie Brazeal. Debbie’s prayers and insights are always a source of encouragement to me. I know you will be blessed by what God revealed to her.

RENEWED

Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

Ephesians 4:23

I have had this deep-seated wish that sometimes, when I am with a trusted friend, they could touch my mind and read my thoughts and emotions. They could help me to make sense of it all without me having to try and explain myself! I get confused about where to even begin so many times!

I liked Star Trek growing up. I have a picture in my head of Spock touching someone’s mind and connecting as he reads all their memories and the interpretation of them.

Wednesday morning I felt really physically bad (getting a cold with fatigue). As I came to Jesus to pray, I realized I did not believe when I felt bad physically that I could receive times of refreshment! I confessed it and that is when He [showed] me that I could touch His mind and let him have all those emotions and thoughts! As I did that Spock thing, I got refreshed!!

I then opened my Bible randomly to Song of Solomon 2:9-13:

My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he stands behind our wall; he is looking through the windows, Gazing through the lattice. My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away!

I remember thinking that this book of the Bible no longer applied to us since we are past our youth. The Lord planted a truth in my heart! He said this is specifically for us! It is what we are becoming, His youthful bride! It is the upside down kingdom! Though our bodies are wasting away our youth is being renewed like the [eagle’s]!

When we actually were [youths] we could not connect as deeply as we can now with Christ. He is overjoyed with our new ability to receive His love and devotion on a deeper level. He even told me we will be more youthful to Him in the next decade because our spirits are being transformed into more righteousness, which allows us to love Jesus [more deeply]!!

Townsend and Cloud’s teaching on grief talks about the importance of recognizing [the loss of a] dream or lost reality… Through community we are given a new thing to take hold of that helps to get over our grief! He compared it to a trapeze artist…you cannot let go of the old bar till there is a new one to take hold of!

… May we be freer to take hold of the eternal reality that Song of Solomon is for us! Jesus is crazy in love with the Jesus in us!! He is happy with how we are progressing and what we are and will become! … We are getting an UPGRADE!!!!

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16 NIV
