Counting On God, Part 12 – 02/07/12

This week we continued looking at God’s interaction with Gideon in Judges 6 as a picture of how we often respond to God and His charge to us in return. Many times we respond to the sanctification process by focusing on ourselves which leads to self-pity, concession of ground to the enemy, and poor self worth. We believe the lies of the enemy that tell us, “God is not with us”, just as Gideon did. God reminded Gideon who he was (valiant warrior) and who his God was. His charge to Gideon and to us is to “go in the strength you have”. This requires patience as we stand on the truth that God will do what He said. If God has said it, HE WILL DO IT! He cannot lie. So, begin developing an expectant heart rather than rehearsing doubt. We also need a pick axe perspective as we remember that most often strongholds are brought down, ground is won, deliverance comes little by little…one day at a time, one step at a time. God is our portion and our cup and He holds all things together. Drink, dear valiant warrior, from the hands of your Father the living water that is the only true remedy for whatever ails you.
