Counting On God, Part 10 – 01/24/12

Share

This was the first week of our second semester. We continued learning to count on God as we saw His desire for us to be fruitful, productive and to walk in newness of life. We talked about the difference between the world’s definition of fruitfulness/productivity and God’s noting that fruitfulness DOES NOT equal works, performance or busyness. To produce the fruit God desires we must abide and walk in relationship with Him.  We were reminded of Noah and the hope that God called him to, but that he had to encounter a lot of corpses and stinky animals along the way. His secret? He walked in habitual fellowship with God (Gen. 6:9 Amp). New things require new skills and new measures of faith. We must count on God to be our provider and remember that “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you” (Rom. 8:11 NLT).
